Managing News & Announcements

If you have Administrator security access rights in Fellowship One, you can add content that other Fellowship One users at your church will see when they log in. The content appears in the News & Announcements panel on the Home page.

There are two ways to add and edit the content—through the Edit link in the News & Announcements box on the home page and through the Admin area. The following procedure applies to either method.

To add News & Announcements content

  1. Do one of the following
  2. Type your content directly in the text area. Notice there are editing buttons similar to those in word processing programs. Use these buttons to format your text. You can also create HTML text by clicking the Edit HTML button in the tool bar.
  3. Click Preview below to see how the content will appear. A preview appears at the bottom of the text editing area.
  4. Click Save changes to save your work. The content is now available on the Home page and can be seen by other users at your church.

Adding Video Content to News & Announcements

The News & Announcements editor supports the ability to post video content for your users to view directly from Fellowship One.

To add video to News & Announcements

  1. Open your video in the provider's website (for example, YouTube, Screencast or Vimeo) and click the Embed option.
  2. Copy the entire block of code displayed.
  3. Open Fellowship One and click Edit in the News & Announcements widget on the Home page. The text editor appears.
  4. Click the HTML button on the toolbar to launch the HTML editor.
  5. Click into the editor in the location to display your video and paste in the embed code.
  6. Click Update. The HTML editor will close.
  7. Click Preview below to see your video in the preview area at the bottom of the page.
  8. Click Save changes to save your video.
